Construction:
24 AWG bare copper wire insulated with thermoplastic. The key feature of a shielded cable is its shielding layer. This layer is typically made of a metallic foil or a braid, and it envelops the insulated conductors. The shielding serves to block external sources of electromagnetic interference, thereby preserving the integrity of the signals transmitted through the conductors. Two insulated conductors twisted together to form a pair and four such pairs cabled to form the basic unit, jacketed with flame-retardant PVC.
